SOS - I'M A WORKAHOLIC & NEED HELP...

Hey you,

Yeah you, the one that spends there day thinking about work, at work. You that love your job and spend too much time at your job, like says your family and friends. I understand. I'm the same. There is nothing wrong with it. Let's be clear, there is nothing wrong with loving your job. The problem is spending too much time thinking about your job, or being always late because you are at your job. Yeah, that's the line. And if you cross it, your screwed. But my friend, you are in luck, because I'm gonna give you my top tips to stop yourself from going too far.

Never stay too late : Always try to leave as early as possible. Let's say your making your own hours, never leave after 6 p.m. It keeps you from spending the night at your job and leaves you time to have a drink or two, to go to diner with your friends, time to leave work at work.

Leave the watch at home when you are off work : running is for the week, when you have 3 things to do at once. On week-ends, you take your time, make your time, use it as you want. You're going to be happier because you're gonna be able to do whatever you want without feeling like you need to run. One step closer to being calmer.

Don't be the one that thinks nothing can run if you're not here : Yes, you think so. No, it's gonna work without you. As long as you know that, it's going to fine. It's going to be really hard, but they can do it. Start believe in then, because if you don't, they are going to be calling you whenever you leave. Give them confidence. They can be wonderful, even better than what you expected.

Whenever you can, leave town to let yourself breath : You need to see something else, think about something else. See other people, plan stuff, never think they are going to need you and stay home alone. Do this whenever you can, save a little money every month to do a two days vacation, go to see your family and friends.

Try to find a hobby outside of work to open your mind to something else : Ballet ? Yoga ? Painting ? Running ? Singing ? Fishing ? Whatever can help you stop thinking about your job is good. Try not do choose shopping... But anything else can be good. As long as you feel like you breath and you are happy !
